Stationery and other documents from the 2006 Papal Conclave, brought back to Baltimore by the then archbishop, William Cardinal Keeler. I wonder how many cardinals worked out proper accusative forms for their candidate of choice.

The sanctuary of the cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles. It took me a while at Mass before I realized that the alabaster window above the sanctuary was divided up by a cross shape. The horizontal bar of the cross slopes downward from back to front, thus maximizing the amount of light coming in from the top two quadrants.

One of the two Lady altars inside San Fernando cathedral in San Antonio. This statue of the black Madonna was given by the people of the Canary Islands, in commemoration of the Canary Islanders who carried over a similar statue to found the church on whose site is now this cathedral.
